At ADT, social responsibility is at the heart of our mission, and our commitment to making a positive impact extends beyond our professional duties. This summer, our corporate interns had the unique opportunity to participate in a meaningful service project with the American Red Cross, assembling 100 personal care kits for home-challenged veterans in the Miami area.

Making a Difference, One Kit at a Time

The project began with a visit from two representatives of the American Red Cross, who shared the organization’s mission and the vital role the care kits would play in supporting Miami’s veteran community. Ivan Sterpin, Service to Armed Forces Director for the South Florida American Red Cross and an Air Force veteran, emphasized the immediate impact of our efforts, stating, “These 100 kits will be given to home-challenged veterans in the community as well as when they visit the Miami VA Hospital. They will provide essential hygiene items, offering these veterans a bit of comfort and dignity as they navigate difficult circumstances.”

Kevin Moran, Corporate Development Officer for the American Red Cross, further highlighted the broader mission of the organization: “The American Red Cross is all over the world, and we are here to alleviate human suffering and crisis. When disaster strikes in any way, the American Red Cross is there. We have a lot of displaced veterans who currently don’t have homes, and these care kits are meant to support them in every way possible until we can find them homes.”

Interns Embracing Social Responsibility

For ADT interns, this service project was not only a volunteer activity, but a chance to directly contribute to the community and witness the tangible impact of their efforts. Patrick Leimer, an IT Development Intern, expressed his gratitude for the opportunity: “I’m so grateful that this internship has given us the opportunity to not only do great professional work, but also volunteer and impact the community as well. I think it’s really amazing that ADT partners with the American Red Cross to utilize our resources and position in the community to help those in need, especially those who have served our country.”
